Lucia Jardim
BSc (Hons) of Physiotherapy
I completed my BSc (Hons) of Physiotherapy in 2016 at the University of the Witwatersrand, thereafter I completed my community service year at Bernice Samuel Hospital in Delmas, Mpumalanga. It was during this year that I intensified my passion for paediatrics as I led physiotherapy care in the paediatric and maternity ward, as well as community outreach programmes for children with developmental delays and cerebral palsy. I also participated in the high risk clinic which monitored children’s development who were born prematurely.
Since 2017 I have worked in various paediatric practices across Johannesburg and gained experience in the management of children with cerebral palsy, developmental delays, hypermobility, genetic conditions, and autoimmune conditions to name a few.
I completed my NDT training in 2020/2021, in 2022 I completed my training in Water Specific Therapy and Ai Chi lectured by Johan Lambeck and Anne Bommer, in 2023 I completed the Advanced NDT course which focused on cerebral palsy in infants.
I have worked in aquatic paediatric physiotherapy for Kerry Churchill since 2019/2020. Aquatic physiotherapy has been an incredible journey both professionally and personally. I am privileged to be a part of my client’s physiotherapy journey and enjoy providing individualised therapy to work towards the goals of my clients and their families.
I am currently practicing at Grassroots Paediatric Development Centre for Kerry Churchill Physiotherapy.
